Ladies Pink Water Course - Saturday 9th June

The Ladies Pink Water Course is a one off special *heavily discounted* course run in conjunction with

Pink water logo - a movement born in Quebec trying to empower women in whitewater. 

A few female instructors from WaterFlow Paddling are providing this course with the aim to grow the local female paddling community, share knowledge and have fun on the water together! This course is open to anyone who identifies as female.

Date: Saturday 9th June

Cost $30 (organized as a not for profit course, all proceeds go towards instructor wages, logistics and insurance)

Option 1 (12 participants): Whitewater kayaking novices. You have some prior whitewater experience but you are still learning how to run the river. The morning will be a skill focused session on the lake and include roll practice. Afternoon river session learning to read the river and manoeuvre in whitewater.

Option 2 (6 participants): Morning kayak play boating and rescue skills clinic on the lake. Afternoon river session working the river and learning how to be a proactive support boater for others getting into the sport. We will be combining the groups in the afternoon so you will get practice supporting the novice kayakers. If you don't have a play boat please contact us, or you can just practice rescue skills!

Equipment for the courses: kayak, paddle, sprayskirt, helmet, whitewater PFD, wetsuit Or drysuit, closed toed shoes, skirt, airbags, thermal layering, change of clothes. All participants in the courses must bringing appropriate equipment ready for the water temperature.

If you are a competent paddler or fellow instructor and just want to come meet others in the community and help out please let us know!

Meet at 8:30am at Alice Lake (furthest parking lot)

Bring your own lunch to eat after the lake session. Depending on the water levels we will then move to the Cheakamus or Mamquam River for the afternoon. After the session we will gather to share experiences of the day and eat some good food - pot luck style, bring a dish!
